Can you Describe Normal?

Suppose your doctor told you that you that your blood pressure was normotensive and you were eupneic. Should you worry? Relax. Your normal! Normotensive means you have a normal blood pressure and eupneic means you are breathing normal at rest. Here are just a few more medical terms that mean normal:

sinus rhythm:   your heart is beating normally

afebrile:               your temperature is normal

WNL:                   within normal limits

                               (i.e knee function is WNL)

euvolemic:         you have a normal amount

                               of body fluids

euglycemia:       your blood sugar is normal
